TGIF Challenge #274 Entry: Pinwheel Card

Here on DannysCards.com, we've talked about the love of my favorite paper scrap card: The Pinwheel Card. This easy to make card was perfect for TGIF Card Challenge #274.

To me, the great marker of a good Paper Scraps card is that it doesn't look like Paper Scraps. As you can see from their blog, the ideas here are bursting with creativity, and their cards too, don't look like scraps, but seamless integration.  So here's my final product:

The Happy Day with the flower was designed using my Colop E-Mark Create printer, which might be the best use of scraps in recent memory. 


What I love is how the adhesive foam and the button really give this card the extra dimension it needs. I'm super happy with the results. Check back later this week as I'm working on another card contest entry using Anna Griffin's Fantastic Flip Die Cut.

For the past few months, I've really given my Anna Griffin Empress Machine a workout. For those not in the know, The Empress is a high powered non-crank emboss and die cutting machine. Black and White Z Card

Over on the Just Us Girls challenge blog , the task this week was quite monochromatic. Let's take a look at the challenge: I can't say that I've ever worked with just black and white for a card. While no doubt I probably inadvertently made a card with this scheme, I can't say I've gone out of my way to enhance only black and white (I know I've definitely grey scaled before).  It was my dear friend Melinda's birthday. For her birthday I made her and her husband Mah Jongg t-shirts using HTV. I was thrilled with the results: Melinda is the kind of person who loves handmade cards, so I went into this challenge with her in mind. Anna Griffin's Slimline Compendium Dies Review

Anna Griffin's new Slimline Compendium dies feel essential. In the past few months, several companies as well as crafters showcased Slimline cards. These much taller (and much slimmer) cards measuring an astounding 8" x 9" and fit into business sized envelopes. They looked attractive, and while no doubt, anyone could cut the base with a bone folder and a paper cutter, the dimensions feel so unwieldy, it does feel intimidating.  Enter Anna Griffin's Slimline Compendium Dies. Now everyone knows that I'm one of Anna Griffin's biggest fans. The Empress is to me, bar none, the best die cutter out there. Additionally, her dies always impress, and I rarely feel disappointed in any die set I purchase.  But the Slimline dies feel next level. Maybe it's just the sheer quantity of dies.
