This week's challenge comes courtesy of The Card Concept. Unlike other blogs, The Card Concept showcases a challenge inspiration photo. Let's take a look at the photo for this week:
What I love about the Christmas tree is how it's at the center with the presents strewn about. I also like the white and gold that are accentuated throughout the photo. All too often, Christmas relies on red and green, and while I love that, something here reminded me almost of a Martha Stewart Christmas with whites and golds.
With that in mind, I ordered these Anna Griffin Christmas Tree Dies specifically for the challenge. Thankfully, they came in quick, and I got right to work.
My first card that I made (and that I am submitting), accentuates the presents along the bottom of the photo.
The gold is gorgeous (which is a bit hard to capture in pictures because it's so reflective). The decorative lights look fantastic.
Because I can never make one of anything, I made a second one with slightly different present configuration. Also note the 3D adhesive dots that really make the tree pop.
I loved the tree at the forefront, so that led me to creating this next round of cards as well:
By cutting three trees and using 3D adhesive dots for the center, this card became really elegant. In some ways, I like it more than the aforementioned cards, but I think the previous cards match the challenge better.
And here's the same configuration but with a different saying.
So there we have it, another fun challenge. I'm really thrilled with all these results. This is a great way to build up my Christmas stash nice and early.
